What we collect when you read
We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. We keep an anonymous count of visits and page views. The counter stores totals, not who you are.
While you browse, your browser keeps a short note in session storage of the first page you visited and the membership button you clicked. It is cleared when you close the tab. If you join, that note travels to checkout as an anonymous reference so we can see which articles lead to memberships.
Like every website, our hosting provider and other service providers receive routine technical information, such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, in their server logs.
What we collect when you sign up or write to us
Field report: the email address you give us.
Contact form: your name, email, company if you add it, and your message.
Membership: your name, email, and billing details. Checkout and the members area are run by our membership platform, and payments are processed by Stripe. Your full card or bank account number goes to the payment processor and is never stored by us.
How we use it
To send the field report you asked for, deliver and support your membership, answer your messages, keep the site secure and working, and meet legal and tax obligations. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for other companies' advertising.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers that help us run things: website hosting and form handling (Netlify), payment processing (Stripe), our membership platform, our email delivery provider, and our visit counter. They may use information only to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
Your choices
Every field report email includes an unsubscribe link. You can ask us to show, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you through our contact page. Members can update payment details or cancel at any time from their account.
How long we keep it
We keep information for as long as we need it for the purposes above. Billing records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require.
Children
This site is written for business owners and professionals. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Security
We use reputable providers and reasonable safeguards. No system is perfectly secure, so we also keep what we collect to a minimum.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. If a change affects members in a meaningful way, we will tell them by email.
